Rebecca Hyman – Physiotherapist

BSc (Hons) MCSP HCPC POGP

Becka qualified as a physiotherapist from the University of Hertfordshire in 2002 and spent 5 years working at Barnet Hospital in North London before returning to Kent.  Since this time, she has continued to work in both the NHS and in private practice as a clinical specialist musculoskeletal and pelvic health physiotherapist.

Her extensive experience has involved assessing and treating patients with a wide range of complex issues, using a variety of skills including manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, rehabilitation, Pilates and acupuncture.

Becka has a particular interest in managing issues related to pelvic floor dysfunction and is passionate about improving the quality of peoples’ lives by empowering them to take control of bladder, bowel and pelvic health complaints and helps to improve their symptoms. She has found that a holistic, whole-body approach to treating these issues can bring long-term life-changing results and restore or improve function. Becka is the Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP) area rep for the South East area and organises meetings, networking and training for other pelvic physiotherapists in this region.

Becka is a trained Mummy MOT Practitioner and enjoys working with pregnant and post-natal clients. She can help with any issues antenatally, such as pelvic girdle pain and back pain, and can help with preparations for childbirth. She can offer a specialist comprehensive postnatal assessment to help women recover from both vaginal and c-section deliveries and any problems related to abdominal separation.

Becka is also a certified ScarWork Practitioner and treats scars and adhesions that may be causing pain, restriction and dysfunction following surgery or injury. She uses gentle techniques to help reintegrate the scar into the surrounding soft tissue to improve sensation, mobility and function.
